General Questions
Will I know who I am buying from? Or who I am selling to?
No. REfficient works on a double blind system which hides who companies are buying from or selling to. REfficient also coordinates the logistics, which does not disclose buyer/seller information. We do this to respect our members' privacy and help businesses reduce risk.
Can I become a member as an individual and if I do not represent a company?
Our services and equipment handled are geared towards businesses. However, an individual may still sign up for an account and purchase equipment.
How do you know that the equipment is being reused?
In our Terms and Conditions, we have multiple conditions that stipulate equipment must be reused and not part of e-waste trafficking. In addition, we have flags for suspect transactions in which we intervene.
Can I come view the equipment?
Due to the double blind system, equipment may not be viewed. However, you can request pictures and ask any pertinent questions to help you make a decision.
How do I know how much the shipping and customs charges will be?
REfficient ships via our simple shipping service called Shimple, in which we take care of the shipping and customs. The shipping amount is included on your invoice when you pay. If you need to know the shipping price ahead of time, email shimple@REfficient.com.
What if I want to use my own shipping method?
REfficient only ships via Shimple and is almost always more cost-effective than customers' own shipping methods.
How can I pay?
REfficient accepts Paypal, Visa, Mastercard and wire payments.
What are the payment terms?
The payment terms are Payment Upfront. If there is any issue after you receive the equipment, please contact us.
How much time do I have to report an issue?
You have 5 days from the day of receipt to report an issue. If you have an issue with a shipment, please take photographs and we will walk you through the dispute resolution process.
This is the first time I've dealt with REfficient. How can I trust sending my money upfront?
REfficient is a certified B Corp, meaning we have voluntarily met higher standards of transparency, accountability and performance. REfficient is also a certified Women's Business Enterprise through WEConnect Canada, meaning we have met the strict criteria to provide services to large corporations and governments around the world.
Is there a warranty?
Most of the equipment we sell carries a "Guaranteed Working" Warranty. Please refer to this document for details. If you have any questions concerning our warranties please contact us for details.
Auction Questions
Which currency am I bidding in?
At this time bidders registered from Canada will be bidding in Canadian dollars; all other bidders bid in US dollars.
How does the bidding process work?
To place a bid, you need to register first. The auction is done via a blind auction style, so you can place a bid based on how much you feel it is worth and can pay. After the auction finishes, you will be contacted with the results of your bid.
I am interested in an item, but I am not sure how much to bid. What do I do?
Input what you feel comfortable paying. The seller may come back with a different price if they feel the offer is not high enough.
Why can't I see what the other bids are?
Bids are not only evaluated on financial criteria, but also other criteria such as environmental impact. Ultimately our clients who own the equipment have the final say, given the set of criteria important to them.
What if I want to change my bid?
You can increase your bid online until the auction closes.
